Embark on a Journey to Survivorship

Northridge Hospital's Navigator Program connects newly diagnosed cancer patients with a Navigator who guides them through the "healthcare maze". A Navigator is essentially a concierge to cancer patients who meets with them one-on-one to better acquaint them with our Oncology Unit, Cancer Center and the Women's Center.

The Navigator connects patients with a Diagnosis to Recovery nurse to provide education on treatment options, how to manage symptoms, and ensure every available resource to make informed decisions is at their fingertips. It also provides patients with knowledgeable, sensitive and compassionate individuals who empathize with patient challenges.

This unique inpatient and outpatient program has numerous benefits:

  • Help schedule appointments and provide reminders
  • Help explain test results and provide further reinforcement and education of physician recommendations
  • Communicate patient concerns to the appropriate physicians and staff
  • Allow a direct connection to Radiology Oncology, Medical Oncology, and our Integrative Medicine program (which includes alternative medicine referral options, yoga Look Good, Feel Better classes, and other life improvement resources)
  • Provide information, support and reassurance while helping patients through a difficult journey
  • Refer and connect patients with additional community support systems

For more information on our Navigator Program, please call (818) 885-5471. Your Navigator is a knowledgeable, sensitive and compassionate individual who empathizes with patient challenges with support, education and empowerment.
