We offer ambulatory and inpatient elective rotations for fourth year students attending LCME and AOA accredited medical schools. During the Outpatient Family Medicine Rotation you will see patients in the Family Practice Center, take part in Dermatology, Neurology, Nutrition, Sports Medicine and Podiatry Specialty Clinics, attend to patients at a local skilled nursing facility and attend daily educational conferences with the residents.
Students participating in the Inpatient Rotation will serve as a member of the Medicine Team, working side by side with the residents, rounding daily on patients in the hospital and seeing patients in the
Family Practice Center
one half day a week. Students will attend Cardiology and Specialty Rounds each week and daily educational conferences with the residents.
While visiting our program you will be provided meals and parking. The Resident House is located across the street from the hospital and is available free of charge for students needing a place to stay.
Confirmation of satisfactory performance and status, liability insurance, proof of immunizations, photo identification such as a drivers license or passport, and Step I or Comlex I results are required prior to acceptance. E-mail Dr. Lucy Whang at lucy.whang@chw.edu if you are interested in scheduling your elective at Northridge.
